Some folk's job security more equal than others?

Just watched a short, not very sweet slot on BBC Midlands Today.

Seems an NHS dentist has won a case where by his employer may not dismiss him without reason.

Seems fair enough.

However, the reason for the story is that his employer, the Government, is fighting this with an appeal.

Wow, the government and the BBC seem to have HR policies and constructive dismissal-avoiding systems those of us here in the UK, on Planet Earth, can only wonder at, even after the last decade of legislative workplace protection, anti-'ist' 'progress'.

I guess that, even when you are within the womb of the civil service, some are more secure than others.

We can evidently add 'being funny to some', and 'having a good shrieking voice' to adequate defences. Spiffy.

I think we need a Department of Double Standards. Or two. Just in case.
