Complementing Junkk Male RE:view, this blog is even more personal, acting as an archive for more 'general' off-topic comments that could often stretch its remit. I’ll leave readers to guess the origins of the name, whilst confessing right away to (too) often tilting at windmills. Coincidentally, checking the translation online, a Spanish Donkey is also an instrument of torture! I just happened to name mine ‘Hotay’.

QUOTE OF THE DAY - Telling it like it is
Actually the author didn't make much of it, but I thought it great...
'Gordon will say he was acting on the information he was given i.e. not my fault gov. '
With of course, the URL associated: NotMyFault.gov.uk/Gordon
Wish I could buy that one. I'm pretty sure it would be a major hit.

I believe in freedom of speech. But I also don't like bullies on blogs, even verbal ones, as they can drive away those with something valid to say... or offer.
Subjective is fine, but well argued and substantiated is even better. Calm and polite tops. Anything that crosses my personal line will not go up. There may be reasons given, but not guaranteed.
I'm not too keen on 'Anon' as a handle (and the content usually explains why), so if that's what you opt for it may not make it. Sorry.
Hey Peter -
ReplyDeletesome things (reassuringly) never change... See you're still churning away :)
By the way, never got a chance to say: your fine lady's music is very nice.
Anyhow, hope your well. Will click on now.

Thank you... and thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe missus now performs several times a week internationally (odd times, from 7am to midnight here to reach the US and Asia Pacfic) on Second Life if you are interested.
I am well, though still struggling with making a living on my eco-efforts. Off in a minute to Glasgow as a speaker at an IP Forum. They liked what I was saying about complementing idea creators with business brains (we creative types tend not to be) to create more sustainable businesses.
I still surf Newsnight, but comment rarely. It seems a bit dominated by a 'select' group of smug types (from various 'sides') who often err to ad hominem pretty quickly when they see things slipping.
Actually I am seeing this across the blogging firmament. Pity, as I have always valued spirited debate supported by reasoned argument and/or decent links.
